Based on the experience of recent years
we have identified 3 options
through which we can process donations.
That would be either
directly via "betterplace.org" , via "TipeeeStream" or via "Norisbank" .
We started with donations via TipeeeStream, which is a platform created for streams to process donations.
We then went on to set up our own bank account at Norisbank specifically for collecting donations.
This also worked well for a long time, but it has the disadvantage that the entire processing of donations is in our hands, fees are incurred which ultimately reduce the donation amount and we cannot issue donation receipts for the donors.
Then we switched to supporting organizations that have created a donation project at betterplace.org.
We can create a donation option there, which then supports an organization's project.
The advantage of this is that we do not have to work with the money, there are no fees and there is a donation receipt for the respective donor.
This has made it easier and less costly for us to organize fundraising events.
So we actually only prefer campaigns that we can process via betterplace.org.
However, we still have the other two backups if they are ever needed.
Under the individual tabs you will find information on what exactly the individual platforms are,
as well as links to view them.
betterplace.org
is a Berlin-based donation platform founded in 2007,
which is operated by the non-profit corporation "gut.org".
On the one hand, the platform can be used by charitable aid projects to collect donations,
At the same time, interested donors can find and support both international and small local aid projects here.
The aim is to bring people and companies who want to help together directly with the people and organizations that need help. Tools are being developed and made available for this purpose,
so that even small charitable projects can carry out online fundraising.
The target group of betterplace.org is younger and internet-savvy people.
The platform acts as an intermediary between supporters and organizations.
A characteristic feature is that the donations do not flow into general global budgets, but are used for specific purposes.
Each organization must specify what it is collecting money for and how much
(e.g. 50 euros for 50 rescue blankets or 30 euros for lunch for 20 needy children).
Large organizations that are represented on betterplace.org include, for example
UNICEF, the German Lifesaving Society, the German Red Cross and the German Children's Fund.
